Access keys
The site uses a sub-set of the UK government accesskeys system to provide short cuts to commonly required pages. Pressing these keys in combination with ALT (on a PC) or CTRL (on a Mac) will take you straight to the place you want.
The key assignments we use are:
- S or s: Skip navigation
- 1: Go to Home page
- 2: Go to Newsletters page
- 5: Go to FAQs (this page)
- 6: Go to Site Help (this page)
- 9: Go to Feedback (email) form
- 0: Go to Access key details (this page)
- T: Text-only version of site (from graphics page)
- G: Graphical version of site (from text-only page)
A version of every page is available that contains no graphics (with a few exceptions, like the two maps). This should not only help with the accessibility of the site but, if you want to print out pages, you will probably get better results with this version. You can access the Text-only version from the left-hand menu or by pressing ALT-T (CTRL-T on a Mac).
